The journey to new facilities
In 2008 we started on the path to create a world-leading health system in Canterbury. Right at the start we asked ourselves: What do we want our health system to look like in the future?
The Hospitals Redevelopment Partnership Group
Because of the extraordinary circumstances, Cabinet approved a stronger partnership between the Government and the DHB than has been normal for DHB redevelopment projects. The Hospitals Redevelopment Partnership Group (HRPG) was established including CDHB's Chair and representatives with clinical, business, financial and government expertise.
The HRPG is providing a high level of governance and support to the DHB. It is also helping to maintain a collaborative environment for working with all key stakeholders in the Christchurch Rebuild including the former Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) - now Ōtākaro Limited - and Christchurch City Council. The Group is setting a fast pace for construction of the facilities.
The members of the HRPG include:
Mr Evan Davies (Chair) – Mr Davies is currently Managing Director of Todd Property Group, Chair of the National Health Board’s Capital Investment Committee, a Director of Waterfront Auckland Ltd, and a Trustee of the Anglican Trust for Women and Children.
Mr Murray Cleverley – former Chair of Canterbury District Health Board.
Dr Tony Lanigan MNZM – Auckland University of Technology.
Dr Margaret Wilsher - Chief Medical Officer at Auckland District Health Board, and a respiratory physician working in both the public and private sectors.
In addition to the members listed above, the Group will include ex officio members representing the Ministry of Health, Treasury, the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority, Canterbury District Health Board and the Hospital Redevelopment Programme Director.
