Patients & Visitors
Volunteers are an important part of providing health services across Canterbury. The services they provide have become well established and highly valued components of care delivery within our hospitals and in the community.
The Canterbury District Health Board greatly appreciates the work of hundreds of volunteers that help its patients, visitors and staff. Volunteers help with a myriad of tasks from running library services, working in playrooms and providing computer tutoring to delivering flowers and organising craft and exercise sessions. By giving their time and energy, these 'unsung heroes' help make life a whole lot brighter for many people everyday.
Services provided by volunteers have become well established and highly valued components of care delivery right across the Canterbury Health System.
Typically individuals offer a couple of hours per week. Some choose to give more or less time depending on their other commitments. We like to be flexible and set hours that suit the volunteer.
